LSBA Establishes Hurricane Katrina Legal Community Relief Fund

In an email this evening the Louisiana State Bar Association announced that it has, through the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation, established the Hurricane Katrina Legal Community Relief Fund to help rebuild South Louisiana''s legal infrastructure so that lawyers can provide needed legal services to their clients and restore their damaged offices and records in the wake of this disaster. Michael H. Rubin of Baton Rouge is chairing this effort. LSBA is developing forms and criteria to apply for relief from the fund and this information will be posted on www.lsba.org as soon as it is available. All members of the legal profession are invited to contribute to the fund. Donations should be sent to:

c/o Baton Rouge Bar Foundation

Any questions on the fund should be directed to Baton Rouge Bar Executive Director Ann Scarle at (225)344-4803.
